INFLUENTIAL EXPERIENCES
My top 5 while attending John Carroll

BELLS PALSY
Entering into your senior year of college you're supposed to feel great, right? Wrong. About two weeks before the academic year started, I was diagnosed with a neurological disorder called Bells Palsy. The cause of this disorder is often unknown so I was left untreated and I was told to "wait it out". simple tasks such as eating and drinking without a straw nearly impossible. Depression did strike but only in strong waves. I was blessed to have an amazing support system but I did not come out of it the same. I became more empathetic towards disabilities and disorders alike. I came out of that four month torment more aware of the struggles that others face everyday in plain sight, and more appreciative of having the ability to do simple tasks like eat a taco. In the picture you can see the side of my face not responding. This picture was the day of diagnoses.

FOOTBALL TEAM TRAVELED TO BARCELONA
One of my most memorable experiences at John Carroll was traveling across the world to Barcelona with my team. We spent a week in Spain traveling to tourists sights, eating cultural food, walking around the city and visiting historically significant sights every day for eight days. Pictured is myself and one of the opponents we played trading gear.

SERVICE FOR OTHERS
John Carroll University brought me to service, something I had never done before. Today, I can not imagine practicing my faith without serving others. John Carroll has truly inspired me to be a man for others and have a positive impact on my community. Pictured is myself and a group of about 40 others on Jesuit day of service. We helped maintain a community green house where the owner teaches his neighbors how sustainable urban farming can be a practical option.

INTERNSHIP WITH THE CLEVELAND INDIANS
My internship with the Tribe lasted the entire preseason and postseason. During my time with the Tribe I met a great group of people from around the country who had similar interest in growing professionally within the sport industry. I learned so much about sales, building relationships and about the basic operation that goes behind the scenes of a single ball game. Truly, mind boggling how many people you do not see making something like that happen. The experience however, only fueled my passion for the sports industry. At the Tribe I was being molded to be best professional possible by some amazing Mentors. Both of whom were women, who strongly displayed how much work it takes to succeed in the business. They are role models for self as well as the other women who were interns that they to can break the glass ceiling and become successful in a male dominated field.

PAIGE
Everyday this women impacts my life in a positive way. She is one of my biggest and influential role models. She displays how beneficial it is to pay attention to the smallest details, both professionally and in her personal life. One of her best attributes that I try to display everyday is her drive. Her drive for perfection and efficiency. Paige also stands as one of my biggest supporters. Since we have been together she has accompanied me to the ER several times continually showing her support and determination to pull the best version of my self into the light.
